Hope International
SageView Foundation’s grants to HOPE International support their investments in the dreams of families in underserved communities in 16 countries around the world. HOPE believes men and women living in poverty have the God-given talents and skills to provide for their families. What they don’t have is a lump sum of money to invest in their potential—by paying school feeds, savings for the future, or investing in businesses. That’s why HOPE provides discipleship, biblically based training, a safe place to save, and small loans.
HOPE-network microfinance institutions are banks designed to serve entrepreneurs living in poverty, who often wouldn’t qualify for a loan at a commercial bank. Aside from providing capital, loan officers walk with the men and women we serve to help them save, learn business skills, and grow closer to Christ. In HOPE’s savings group programs, formed in partnership with the local church, groups of individuals save their money together. As they build a secure sum of money, members can take out loans from their group to pay for household expenses or invest in businesses.
In addition to furthering HOPE’s overall work around the world, SageView Foundation has provided specific support to the following countries: the Dominican Republic, Ukraine, and South Asia (country name withheld for security) since 2014. HOPE provides a model of collaboration, ethics and standards as an organization that we are humbled by.
